Through our partnership with the Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub, we also have access to a range of adaptive and adaptable instruments to ensure no child is excluded from making music.

Whole Class Instrumental Lessons (WCIT) allows the whole class to learn an instrument together. A range of instruments are available ranging from brass, woodwind, strings, guitar and percussion. 

This programme is designed for pupils in years 3-5 but can be delivered in earlier year groups, with more age-appropriate instruments. This is for pupils in their first year of learning and free instruments are provided.

We ask that the same teacher or teaching assistant must always be present in class, each week.

 Annual cost: £1,612 per programme for 60 minutes (before your lunchbreak) / 50 minutes (after your lunchbreak) of WCIT tuition supplied weekly for 34 weeks across the school year.

A similar whole class experience to WCIT, except this programme focusses on empowering groups of students within the class to become class leaders.

The termly programme would be delivered following this schedule:

Week 1 – SCMS tutor works with selected group of students for the full lesson

From Week 2 – SCMS tutor works with entire class and uses the ‘Get Ahead’ group to peer support learning. Evidence gathered by delivering this programme previously, has seen marked advancements in learning and engagement from the ‘Get Ahead’ group and the class as a whole.

 Annual cost: £1,612 per programme for 60 minutes (before your lunchbreak) / 50 minutes (after your lunchbreak) of WCIT tuition supplied weekly for 34 weeks across the school year.

Whole Class Music tuition to provide PPA cover for class teachers. 

An instrumental programme using 2 Suffolk County Music Service teachers to release all school staff from the session and ensuring an even more uninterrupted and consistent service to schools.

Annual Cost: £2514 per programme for 60 minutes tuition (before your lunchbreak) / 50 minutes (after your lunchbreak) of WCIT "PPA Cover" supplied weekly for 34 weeks across the school year.

Includes free Instrument Hire.

Your school purchases blocks of time for you to be able to organise individual and vocal small group/1:1 tuition, supported by our peripatetic teacher.

We recommend groups no larger than 2 pupils in half hour slots. 34 sessions per academic year

Annual Cost: £783 per 30 mins of teaching, supplied weekly for 34 weeks across the school year.

For a single charge to schools (used to cover admin costs and subsidise lesson costs for your students), Suffolk County Music Service will directly bill parents for 30-minute, small group lessons (maximum 4 pupils in each group). Parents will sign their children up for FamilyLink: Lessons in Schools via the CMS website and we will then ensure that all students, who wish to continue, have a lesson.

Benefits to schools 

1. One single payment for enrolment of school. Clear for budgeting purposes with no unknowable costs or possible shortfall in recouping costs.

2. The amount of teaching time is limitless, so no matter how many students want to continue, one payment enables all of them to be part of the system.

3. Your students' WCIT instrument might not be their ‘perfect partner’ – on negotiation, we could offer some additional instruments for them to try!

4. No school office time spent on recouping payments from parents or administering the system & timetabling.

5. Parental charges for lessons will be outstanding value at £7.85 per 30-minute group lesson per pupil. Parents will pay for their lessons on a termly basis. Instrument hire fees can also be added to these monthly payments.

1. Fantastic value for money at £7.85 per 30-minute group lesson (this price partly subsidised by the school’s enrolment fee).

2. We have expanded the lesson options for your students with the introduction of new 30 minute and 20 minute individual lessons.  

2. The possibility for your students to use all the skills they have learnt during the WCIT year, on a new instrument!!

3. Your students will make quicker progress on their instrument whilst learning in a small group.

4. Parents will have direct connection to the Norfolk & Suffolk Music Hub and all the additional performance and learning opportunities this brings.

5. The ability to arrange lessons and instrument hire at the same time from the same organisation.

Annual Cost: 

Up to 75 pupils on school roll​ - £175​ cost to school, lessons payment to families

76 – 180 pupils on school roll​- £275​ cost to school, lessons payment to families

181 + pupils on school roll​- £375​ cost to school, lessons payment to families

For unlimited teaching, supplied weekly for 34 weeks across the school year.

Cost per project: £27 per 30 minute session supplied.

If you have specific ideas of what you would like delivered, we would be happy to facilitate. We also have a host of suggestions - including singing assemblies, multi-week instrumental projects, whole day workshops, instrumental carousel projects, bespoke music CPD covering any area of the curriculum including ICT and ensembles of all types.

We also have teachers with significant experience and specialism in both Primary and Secondary curriculum delivery.

Curriculum support packages are always bespoke and can be for any number of weeks.

These projects are for Primary schools only

Designed to 'kickstart' instrumental learning in your school or introduce a new instrument, and feed into the FamilyLink Lessons - in Schools charging model. 

They include up to 6 weeks of an hour of free lessons, including instrument hire if needed, for your students.

Cost: A limited number of these projects are FREE! but rely on being ordered before the deadline to ensure eligibility. 

For all the lessons above, the instruments available to you will be dependent on your geographical location and availability of our teaching staff. The options will be made clear to you during the conversation with your area manager.

You will have the opportunity to draw on a huge range of instruments including: West African Djembe, West Indian Steel Pans, Indonesian Gamelan, Japanese Taiko Drums, Brazilian Samba, Melodeon, French Horn, Viola, Oboe, Tenoroon and all the commonly recognisable orchestral instruments as well as Guitar, Ukulele, Glockenspiel etc.

We even have access to adaptable instruments and a range of plastic instruments that are brightly coloured, light to hold and sound great.
