Music for Early Years

This training opportunity will be valuable for Early Years Practitioners and Childminders who would like to introduce or develop music-making in their work with young children, parents and carers. No previous musical experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to learn and use ideas through a practical approach.

2026-27 Project in collaboration with Suffolk County Council Early Years Team.

Aims:

• Upskill Early Years practitioners in practical, high-quality music making.

• Support children’s communication, early speech and language through structured musical experiences and enabling further unstructured exploration both in and out of setting.

• Cascade learning within local networks so that practice spreads beyond the initial cohort.

• Link to CYP’s strategic priorities related to speech and language development.
