Suffolk County Music Service's audio/visual policy (photo/video permissions)

By their very nature our activities are in the public domain as they always lead to public performance. This may include the use of music technologies (sound and video recording) and photography as an integral part of the performance; to promote our work to new audiences; and encourage continued support for our activities. With that in mind we ask you to confirm consent for your image/voice to be used in the following:

• Resources and publications produced by Suffolk County Music Service and Suffolk County Council.
• External publications (such as newspapers and magazines).
• Suffolk County Music Service and Suffolk County Council’s social media channels including Facebook and Twitter.
• Suffolk Music Education Hub and Suffolk County Council’s website and intranet.
• External websites/broadcast media (such as news organisations or partner websites).

Conditions of use

1. Your images / video / audio will be retained by the Council for no longer than 3 years, after which time, it will be securely and permanently removed from the Council’s server. On some occasions there may be a business need to retain photographs and video recordings for a longer period, for example from Royal visits or one-off collaborative events. (Note: Whilst we will remove your image / video / audio from our servers and social media platforms, if you have consented to their use on social media, the Council cannot prevent its continued use by third parties, over which the Council has no control.)
2. The image(s) or media content will only be used for the stated purpose. Further consent will be sought if there is a desire to use the material for a different publication. (Note: Photographs and recordings may continue to be used after your child ceases to be a member or the activity ends.)
3. We will not include personal e-mail or telephone numbers on our website, social media or in printed publications.
4. Please note that websites and social media can be viewed throughout the world and not just in the United Kingdom where UK law applies.
5. Suffolk County Council holds the copyright for the image/video and its use.
6. You have a number of rights under data protection law, including a right to request to see a copy of the information we hold about you, the right to request that inaccurate personal data is corrected and the right to request that your personal data is deleted.
