The Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra (SYJO) ensemble launched in November 2022 and we want Saxophone; Trumpet; Trombone; Guitar; Piano; Vocals!

The ensemble's next rehearsal weekend is on Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 February 2023

• Do you want to play jazz with likeminded young musicians from all over Suffolk?
• Do you know the structure of a Blues scale? Are you a notation reader? Can you read and understand chord symbols? If you answered yes to most of these then this ensemble is perfect for you!
• Do you want to learn all of the above (and more…)? If yes, then you are nearly perfect for this ensemble so do sign up!
• All instruments welcome!

There will be a chance to work with professional guest jazz musicians over the year, with a recording/performance opportunity at the end of the season. 

Included in your membership will be 8 full rehearsal days which will be spread over 4 weekends during 2022/2023:

At Northgate Arts Centre, Sidegate Lane West, Ipswich IP4 3DF from 10.00am – 5.00pm.

Membership of this ensemble is £300 or free for current CMG members (Suffolk Youth Orchestra, Suffolk Youth Wind Orchestra or Suffolk Young Strings). It’s a bargain!

Fees are pro rata if you join later in the year, so from January 2023 the cost is £225.
