Suffolk’s Young Musicians continue performing across the county this summer – and beyond!

A busy summer of events continues across Suffolk. Visitors have enjoyed performances by Suffolk Youth Orchestra, Suffolk Young Strings, Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra and Suffolk Youth Wind Band. Visitors to our Gazebo at events have also tried out a selection of musical instruments. They have also entered our prize draws, enjoyed great prizes and asked us about what we offer children and young people.

Suffolk County Music Service's full summer of activities continues. Our County Music Groups go on their European tours. The Suffolk Youth Orchestra to Vicenza, Italy. The Suffolk Youth Wind Band are playing to audiences in Belgium on the way to their base in Metz, France. From Metz, they go to Germany to perform. Then they visit Luxembourg. Metz is a great base! Dubbed the ‘Four Corners’ Tour, it's a very exciting prospect for all!

Once back in the UK, the Suffolk performances continue:

The Suffolk Youth Orchestra Prom Concert is at Snape Maltings on 1st August. It is part of the Summer at Snape programme.

The Suffolk County Music Service team will be at FolkEast on 16th, 17th & 18th August, at Glemham Hall. Come and see us for more fun activities - see you there!

The Suffolk Youth Orchestra are returning to Snape. They will have their Gala Performance on Sunday 1st September.

Our activities don’t stop. We look forward to the 2024/25 academic year when our County Music Group Memberships restart.

This includes our weekly Music Schools on Friday evening and Saturday morning. It also includes Choirs, music lessons, and instrument hires. These are a great and a low-cost way for kids and teens to try instruments. They can get them for a term or a year. The instruments include violins, guitars, French horns, and more!
