Suffolk County Music Service
Staff information
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all professionals should make sure their approach is child-centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.
Read Keeping Children Safe in Education on GOV.UK.
If you feel you have a safeguarding emergency, you can call:
Suffolk County Music Service is fully committed to the moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment, underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, are able to raise concerns and believe they are being listened to, and that appropriate action will be taken to keep them safe. All external partners engaged in the Suffolk Music Hub are similarly committed and have their own Child Protection Principles and Practices, and Safeguarding Policy.
All staff and volunteers working within our school who have substantial access to children have been checked as to their suitability, including verification of their identity, qualifications, and a satisfactory DBS check (according to guidance) and a central record is kept.
All important documents relating to safeguarding are available on our Music Service Tutors area of the website. As part of our induction process for all staff and volunteers all adults working with Suffolk County Music Service are required to sign to say that they have read and understood these documents.
